Everything You Need to Know About Celebrant Services

General Celebrant Questions

What exactly is a celebrant?

A celebrant is a trained professional who creates and conducts personalised ceremonies for life's important moments. Unlike religious ministers who follow set liturgies, celebrants work with you to create completely bespoke ceremonies that reflect your values, beliefs and personal story. We can include religious elements if desired, but we're not bound by specific religious requirements.

Can you include religious elements in your ceremonies?
Do I need to have specific religious beliefs to work with you?

Wedding Ceremony Questions

Are celebrant-led weddings legally binding?

In England, celebrant ceremonies are not legally binding yet, so you'll need to complete the legal requirements separately with a registrar. Most couples do this with a simple signing ceremony at a register office either before or after their celebrant ceremony.

Funeral Ceremony Questions

How is a celebrant funeral different from a traditional funeral?

Celebrant funerals are completely personalised to reflect your loved one's life, personality and impact. While we can include traditional elements like hymns and prayers, we focus on telling their unique story, sharing memories and creating a ceremony that truly honours who they were.

Naming Ceremony Questions

What's the difference between a naming ceremony and a christening?

Naming ceremonies are secular celebrations that focus on welcoming your child and making promises about their upbringing, while christenings have specific religious significance within the church. However, I can incorporate spiritual elements into naming ceremonies if that's meaningful to your family.
